Unitil Issues a Storm Advisory to Customers
In response to any predicted severe weather, Unitil will closely monitor the situation and will make the necessary preparations to ensure that customers' needs and expectations are met.
Sometimes severe weather conditions may occur. These conditions may interrupt electric service in some areas. Most electrical outages are expected to be for relatively short periods of time. However, severe weather conditions can create substantial damage to the electrical system, and restoration can take an extended period of time.
If customers experience outages, they should report their outage on the web athttp://www.unitil.com/outage/index.aspor call Unitil. This helps identify the location and nature of problems on the system. The toll free phone number is:

We also advise customers to be prepared. We recommend they check and inventory the following items before losing power:
-Blankets -Warm coats, hats and mittens for all family members. -Flashlights and fresh batteries -Battery-operated radio and clock -Containers filled with water and/or bottled water -Canned or dried food and a manual can opener -List of important phone numbers -First aid kit -Charged cell phone
Additionally, we ask customers to ensure that dryer vents, hot water and boiler exhausts and utility meters are cleared of snow and ice and have ample space to vent. They should also check to ensure that ice and snow falling from roofs and eaves are cleared and do not damage the vents, exhaust or meters.
If outages do occur, Unitil personnel will be working around the clock until power is restored. In addition, we will be providing updated information on storm restoration efforts onwww.unitil.com, to the local media and to public officials on a regular basis.
Recycle Bin News The Town is offering a new 65 gallon recycle bin (with wheels) for $45.00 each. These bins are available at the Public Works Dept. on Newfields Road only. Please call Public Works at 773-6157 before going there to purchase a bin to be sure they have some in stock.
You can also purchase the regular 14 gallon recycle bin at the Town Office for $8.00 each.

Northside Carting Trash/Recycle Holiday Information Northside Carting is our trash/recycle hauler effective June 2,2008. Trash/recycle will not be picked up on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
If your normal trash/recycling pick-up day falls on one these days,your trash/recycling will be picked up on the following day.

Notice about Fairpoint FIOS TV to Exeter residents: FIOS TV service is not currently available in Exeter. Fairpoint is doing a video beta testing in a very limited number of homes in Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, ME. The Town continues to work with Fairpoint and will be updating residents as the company gets closer to offering a standard video product.
