The Town of Exeter observes the following the holidays:

| Day after Thanksgiving |
| Christmas Day |
If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the Friday before is observed as the holiday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is observed as the holiday. All town offices are closed on the above listed holidays.
This schedule does NOT apply to the trash/recycle pick-up schedule.

Northside Carting can change their holiday schedule at any time. Trash/recycle pick-up will be one day late after the holiday for the remainder of the week. To verify a holiday, you can call the Trash Hotline at 418-6450 or Public Works Dept. at 773-6157 or Northside Carting at 978-686-8604.
