ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT


The Zoning Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body which hears and decides four types of zoning adjustment applications.  The four types include Variances, Special Exceptions, Appeals from Administrative Decisions, and Equitable Waivers of Dimensional Requirements.  New Hampshire's planning enabling legislation, Revised Statutes Annotated (RSA) 672-677, and the local zoning ordinance and map provide the legal basis for the Board of Adjustment's work.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00PM in the Nowak Room fo the Town Office.  Please contact the Planning & Building Department for information related to being placed on a ZBA agenda.

The Planning & Building Departments coordinate the efforts of the ZBA.  Applications can be obtained at the Planning & Building office and all questions and inquiries can be directed to the Planning & Building staff.  The Planning & Building Department is located on the second floor of the Town Office building.  The department is open Monday thru Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM and can be reached at 773-6112.

Five member board with five alternate members (effective 4-1-88). Three year terms appointed by the Board of Selectmen, one member of the Planning Board may sit on the Zoning Board as provided by RSA 673:5 III.
